Privacy statement

This is the privacy statement of: Sport & Health Club The Challenge, located at Kaya Adriátiko z/n, in Jan Thiel Beach and CRIB: 102.258.612. Chamber of Commerce registration number: 108777. For questions or contact, you can email sport@the-challenge.net.

When we refer to 'personal data' in this privacy statement, we mean the information you provide to us about yourself, such as your name, email address, and phone number. You do this entirely voluntarily.

  1. Purpose of processing and storing personal data
Your personal data is only used to inform and contact you regarding the purpose for which you filled out the relevant contact form. The composition of the requested personal data is adjusted per form so that we do not ask for and/or store information that is not relevant to the purpose for which you leave your personal data. Providing your personal data is, by definition, completely voluntary. We distinguish five types of personal data that we process on this website:
    – Information request: the vast majority of forms on the website aim to inform you about a specific (fitness) program, rates, offers, or a specific question you have asked. Each form describes what information you will receive. The requested data is limited to name, email, and phone number to reach you for the requested information.
    – Membership advice: do you want to know which membership or program best suits you? Then we need a bit more information than just your name, email, and phone number. We ask you to voluntarily answer a number of questions regarding your goals, wishes, and expectations regarding a membership. Your contact details combined with these answers will only be used to inform and advise you about the most suitable membership.
    – Introductory appointment: both an information request and membership advice can be followed up with an invitation to make an (online) introductory appointment. If you choose to do this (voluntarily!), your personal data will be used to confirm the appointment you selected via email/phone/SMS.
    – Newsletter: you may sign up for the newsletter. This always happens through a mandatory double opt-in. After signing up, you will periodically receive the newsletter via email to provide you with service information and general information about Sport & Health Club The Challenge.
    – Registration form: we may also use a registration form where we ask for more personal data than just name, email, and phone number. The registration form is intended to give you the opportunity to become a digital member/customer of Sport & Health Club The Challenge and complies with all relevant legislation. After registration, we will contact you by phone. You always have the right to cancel your registration within the legally defined reflection period.
After receiving the data, we will then contact you via email, SMS, and/or phone to provide you with the requested information.

  1. Duration of storage of personal data
Personal data is not stored longer than strictly necessary. For all regular contact forms (purpose 1, 2, and 3 as described above), data will be deleted 12 months after provision. We are then certain that there has been sufficient opportunity to inform you about the purpose for which you left your personal data. For a newsletter subscription, we will keep your data as long as you are subscribed; you can always actively unsubscribe via a link in the newsletter. For an online registration form to become a customer/member of our company, we will retain your personal data throughout your membership to fulfill the agreement. This applies even if your data has been removed from the information and/or newsletter database in the meantime.

  1. Security
Your personal data is safe. The entrusted data is secured using technical and administrative security measures to minimize the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration. This includes firewalls, data encryption, secure connections, and physical and administrative access controls to the data and servers.

  1. Disclosure of personal data to third parties
To make the information you requested accessible, Sport & Health Club The Challenge collaborates with third parties. This includes a website administrator, hosting party, automated phone connection, newsletter system, and administrative software.  This website ensures that we, as a company, can connect with you as a consumer and processes/has access to your data. A so-called Data Processing Agreement has been concluded with all involved parties. This agreement guarantees, among other things, the security and timely deletion of your personal data.

  1. Right of access, rectification, withdrawal, or deletion of personal data
We would like to point out the possibility to request access to, rectify, withdraw, and/or delete your stored personal data from our database. Please send an email to sport@the-challenge.net.

  1. The right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority
If you disagree with the privacy statement described above or the way we handle your data, you have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority. This can be done via https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl/(NL) / https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be/citizen (BE).
This privacy statement may be amended at any time. We recommend that you consult the privacy statement regularly.
